It’s all movies all the time here on Little Reading.

Just kidding. I never watch movies, with Shutter Island being a rare exception. I actually liked most of it, although the ending was far from satisfying. This was a case where I actually would have preferred a Hollywood ending, with explosions, gunfire, and crass moralization. Basically, I like my mind fuckery to reach a chaotic crescendo, not just piddle down into “I guess it’s lobotomy time.” Aside from that, though, it was a beautiful movie.
